Ottawa, ON (September 11, 2008) – Next week will mark the conclusion of a march across Canada that began on June 21st in Vancouver. A group of walkers from British Columbia have walked over 5,000 km this summer to raise awareness of violence against women, leading to high numbers of missing and murdered women in Canada, the majority being Aboriginal. These walkers will present a petition of almost 3,000 signatures to Parliament calling for greater attention for dealing with many of these unsolved cases. Walk 4 Justice’s trek across the country will conclude with a number of events in Ottawa on Monday, September 15th.
