Nation-Building

In 2011, NWAC facilitated a national dialogue on First Nations citizenship and membership. The dialogue was funded by the Department of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada as part of the Exploratory Process to respond to the range of issues related to Indian Registration, membership and First Nation Citizenship.

In addition to holding workshops and asking women to identify issues that they have experienced regarding Indian Registration within the Indian Act, NWAC also asked women to fill out questionnaires to provide us with their views on Nation-Building for our future generations.

The products of our different sessions are found below, as well as our final report.
