Health is everything. Every aspect of our-life (social, economic, environmental) and our-self (mental, emotional, spiritual and physical), must be healthy and strong in order for healing to occur. Maintaining good health involves maintaining connections between the individual, the family, the community, the nation, and the land.
Aboriginal people draw strength and resilience from their rich histories and their diverse cultures, traditions, and languages. Aboriginal women’s roles as keepers of knowledge and givers of life have changed over time, but we remain central to the family unit grounding our future leaders with cultural continuity, security, support, and hope. Aboriginal women are increasingly concerned about the health and wellbeing of future generations and remind leadership to consider the impacts on our children and grandchildren in every decision they make.
