
What is the Native Women’s Association of Canada’s (NWAC) Youth Volunteer Circle?
NWAC’s Youth Volunteer Circle was an initiative created by the NWAC Youth Department in 2006. The main purpose of this program is to expand youth participation within NWAC and to increase NWAC’s connectivity with youth within communities.
Who can join the Circle?
Aboriginal youth interested in helping our work and advocacy on behalf of young Aboriginal people.
Who should join the Circle?
Join the Circle if you are interested in working with the NWAC Youth Department and addressing issues relevant to Aboriginal youth in Canada.
What do we expect from Circle members?
To sign a volunteer contract, contact information sheet, code of conduct, media release form, guiding principles and ensure a reasonable time commitment to help us with our projects.
What types of activities will the Circle members do?
Conduct research, gather information on available Aboriginal youth programs and available funding, participate on the Helen Bassett Commemorative Student Award Selection Committee, assist and participate in NWAC events/workshops/programs, disseminate relevant information to youth in communities etc.

More youth involvement with our Youth Department and we get connected to more Aboriginal youth in communities.
What’s in it for you?
Volunteers can dedicate as little or as many flexible hours they wish to and will receive a volunteer appreciation certificate after completing a minimum 10 hours of work, reference letters and valuable resume experience.
